" Everyone was happy with the food they ordered except me. We ordered for the fileto aromatico (angus beef with mushroom sauce), grilled salmon and the pasta with seafood. The 2 former dishes were superbly made but my pasta was not as good as what I get in Santino restaurant in Oslo. Ambiance was nice, no too loud music. There were 3 singers who played music and after awhile they go to each tables to sing and could request for a song. You could also say no Thank you. No pressure. We gave 150 pesos tips to them as they tried their best to sing a difficult song we requested, Blackbird by the Beatles. Overall a relaxing evening. Prices is the average price level in Makati. Expect from 800 pesos per prson budget that includes a pasta dish, a glass of white wine, 1 glass of mango juice, mineral water and a cup of coffee. The angus beef dish costs 800 pesos as I remember. Service charge is included in the bill so no need to give 10% tip unless you have more budget." -Travellingisagift from Oslo, Norway
" Only a 5-10 minutes walk from Greenbelt 1, you can find this little Italian restaurant in Legaspi, Makati. When we were there they had a little band playing nice music. Do not be surprised if they appear at your table and give you some songs for you and your companions - including some requests from you.
The food we tasted was very good. We had seafood pasta and Angus beef. We finished off with a very tasteful chocolate cake. The food and the drinks were delivered efficiently.
We will be back.
PS! This restaurant is a lot more relaxed than the ordinary Greenbelt restaurant." -Excel2Travel from Lysaker, Norway
" My wife and I reside in Makati 6 months of the year and this is one of our favourite restaurants. It can be a little tricky to find but a good trip is that it is opposite Murphy's Irish Pub. The food is excellent. The decor is classy and comfortable. There is usually live entertainment on Fridays. The Italaian food here is a lot better than that whick we have in Italy." (This place is very good) -InquisitorX from Sydney
" I love eating in la grotta. Food is really great. My favorite is their Panini which is served uniquely and their Vongole cooked with truffle oil! Price is affordable and serving is big! It is a small place with good ambiance also good for first dates ." -violettravels
"It's not salty at all likewise most of the restaurant in Manila. Respective taste of its materials are well respected. Wish to revisit again." -ytrwkuma
"The place exudes a very relaxing and positive ambiance. The free appetizer is really really good. The food is awesome! Very nice experience i had." -Breezefairy
"A real gem, kind of a hideaway sort of place. Service was top notch, the food was all very fresh and made to order. The chef's have some great unique recipes, LOVED the white pasta sauce, but could not figure out how they made it. WONDERFUL. Fresh bread, great soup, nice crisp salad, just a real pleasure, I will return again and again." -007Mark
"One of the best Italian resto's I've been to - the food is fantastic - try the different pasta & pizza varieties, some of them are made there. One trip isn't enough, you have to come back & try the other menu items. The food meant to be savored & enjoyed with good company. The ambiance is cozy, packaged like a quaint Italian get-away, it's not a big place, complete with Italian music in the background. The service is friendly, the waiting time is just right. Don't forget to try the complimentary bread that they serve just before the meal - it's often freshly baked. Make a reservation though before going there especially for a weekday lunch, it tends to fill-up quickly." -mike321ph
"La Grotta is probably the best Italian restaurant in Makati so far. This restaurant might look lik just another whole-in-the-wall, but the ambiance of the place is very relaxing and it feels like an authentic Italian restaurant. This is a place to bring your date to!
Their tartufo is a must try. And also their pizza Bianca.

"Tartufo Pasta FTW!" -Klarence S.
"It is like Amicci, fine dining style! The waiters are wearing suit! The place has that fine dining ambiance for Amicci's price. Who won't like tha? It's a good place to bring a date or a client. I liked Their Risotto, Lasagna, Seafood pasta.. And.. They have my fave local beer.. Cerveza Negra! Don't get me wrong, they serve wine. It's just that I like drinking Negra so it's a plus for me that they have it on a frosted glass! So, if you have a date and you don't have a hefty wallet.. This is the place to go! :) just say my name and you get a discount.. Just kidding! *winks*." -Aebby F.
"Finding for some authentic Italian resto? La Grotta is for you! The key to a perfect pasta dish is always having the noodles cooked perfectly- "al dente" to that sense. You might wanna try this truffle Pasta they got. Very delicious!!!!! Can't get over it." -Matthew L.
"Delicious Italian food, reasonably priced, portions are just right."
"A hidden gem at the heart of the business district, this place rocks. Although admittedly, it's best to come here when there's sweldo as the prices are a bit higher than Amici's. If there's one thing you should order here, go for the Truffle Pasta! It's large enough to be split into two servings. Other things to order: carpaccio and pizzas. I hope this place doesn't close down. Now I'm hungry." -Elizabeth S.
"The food here is perfect. Service, ambiance, and culinary expertise go together.
The best community italian ristorante in the whole of metro manila." -Basilio
"Reservation: N/A it was the person who I met for the lunch meeting who made the reservation.
Food: I'm so disappointed, it wasns't even half of what I expected. But then again, pasata was the recommended food, but I ordered baked duck so it sucked.
Service: 2 thumbs up! quick and efficient service.
Overall: It was a so so experience, not worth the price, but maybe i'll try the pasta next time." -PJ
"After having passed the place several times, i suggested that me and my friend have dinner here. It was the day after Valentines and fresh roses decorated every table. Musicians serenaded couples and friends alike while they dined in candle light. I vowed to take my husband with me the next time I came back! It is truly a very romantic place where you can just hideaway with your better half.
Spurred by the great reviews on their ravioli, i ordered just that, and I do agree that their chicken ravioli in truffle cream sauce (Pollo Di Ripieno) is heavenly! For a healthy option, you can request for Spinach ravioli in funghi cream sauce, which is equally rich and satisfying. I have yet to try their pizza and other dishes, but I am sure that I won't be disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive which made my dining experience a truly enjoyable one. Needless to say, i will definitely be back!" -Ashkie
"Best ravioli in town! Great choice, excellent friendly service, hearty and cozy place. True, full during lunch." -Katti
"Been avid about Lagrotta since its a street away from my office. Can be very busy at lunchtimes and quiet at dinners.
Tasty and hearty italian fare. Minestrone. divine truffle inflicted mushroom risotto and delicious veal! desserts are equally divine. service is on the dot." -pinoyvaluemeal
"Luv the icetea, pizza bianca and the seafood pasta here." -Jing T.
"Best to call for reservation, place is small and seldom you can get table if you're walk in customer." -Eunice P.
"Everything's delicious!!! The T-bone steak's super worth but is only available during Fri, Sat & Sun." -Katherine S.
